Junior Development Program

Softball Victoria are excited to announce the details of the 2023 Junior Development Program. 

Starting on 29 July 2023, the program will be run by experienced coaches and state representative players in five locations (Casey, Northern / Mill Park, Sunshine, Waverley and Wodonga) allowing participants to choose their preferred venue.

The program will suit beginner to intermediate skilled players from 8 to 14 years of age.

The aim of this program is to provide junior players with the opportunity to develop fundamental skills and game sense throughout Winter and have them ready to hit the ground running for the 2023/24 season, which starts in October 2023. 

Participant numbers will be capped at 60 per location with places expected to be filled quickly.

WHO: Juniors aged 8-14 years old, whether you are new to Softball or have played for your school, club, or association, this program is perfect for you. 

DATES: The program runs for 6 weeks, from July 29 through to September 2

TIME: Saturdays - See below for whether your location is a morning or afternoon session. 

COST: $70 per person

WHAT TO BRING: Bring all of your Softball gear - if you don't have any, that's absolutely fine, the host association will be able to provide it.

Also bring drink bottles and a snack for after the session

WHAT TO WEAR: Your Softball gear! Please wear cleats (if you have them) & hats. If you don't have softball uniform you don't need to purchase anything, simply wear comfortable sporty clothes. 

VENUES: To maximise opportunities for participation the program is being held at multiple venues across the state, either from 10am - 12pm OR 2pm - 4pm. 

• Albury Wodonga Softball Association (Gayview Park, Wodonga) - Saturdays 2pm - 4pm
• Casey Softball Association (Sweeney Reserve, Berwick) - Saturdays 2-4pm 
• Sunshine Softball Association (More Park, Ardeer) - Saturdays 10-12pm 
• Northern District Softball Association (Mil Park Rec Reserve, Mill Park) - Saturdays 2-4pm
• Waverley Softball Association (Jells Park, Wheelers Hill) - Saturdays Time 2-4pm

HOW TO REGISTER:

To be eligible you must be a registered as a Junior Development Program member follow the instructions below: 

FOR NEW MEMBERS: Registration directly to Softball Victoria as a Junior Development Program member can be made via this link REGISTRATION - Junior Development Program Member.  Memberships directly to Softball Victoria as a Junior Development Program member are available for $70. 

FOR EXISTING MEMBERS: Please click "Returning Member" on the REGISTRATION PAGE, login into your account and upgrade your membership to Junior Development Program member and pay the $70 fee. 

Once you have completed your registration you will be sent an email containing the link to register into the Junior Development Progarm event, where you will be asked to select your location.
