Softball Victoria Board Update
Published Fri 21 Oct 2022
At the recent Annual General Meeting a number of board changes occurred.
We farewelled two board members in Ben Byrnes and Liza Newnham and welcomed Kyle Johnson and Debra Glowaski to the Softball Victoria board. Sharni Arthur replaced Ben Byrnes as Board Chair and Anthony Bradstreet was re-elected as Board President.
Anthony lead the tributes to the departing members:
"Ben Byrnes finishes up on the board after three terms, the maximum amount allowed by our constitution. During this time he has been the Chair of the Finance Committee and, more recently, Chair of the Board. He brought his experience in finance and in softball to provide great insight and knowledge to the board and has been a key driver of the direction of Softball Victoria for my time on the board. Thank you Ben for all that you have brought to the sport and you will be missed.
Liza came to the board with experience across the sporting landscape. She was always keen to challenge and test why we were doing things and this was valuable in making sure we were doing what was right, not just what we have done before. Liza was a strong supporter of a number of our programs and was one of the key drivers for our first Pride round. Thank you for your passion and commitment to the board and all the best with your next endeavours.
Renewal is a key part of every board and I would like to thank Ben and Liza for all they contributed to the board and I look forward to working with the new members who have joined our board over the recent months."
