More than 40 club and association representatives attended Softball Victoria’s online Participation and Club Development forum on Monday night.
Information sessions were presented by Softball Victoria and Softball Australia staff, and covered a range of topics, including:
- The newly developed Junior Participation Pathway for children aged 4-10.
- The soon to be launched National Participation Program, ‘Home Run Heroes’.
- How to develop relationships with local schools.
- Club and Association Planning.
- Utilising Participation Coordinators effectively.
- Marketing and Promotion.
Attendees also heard a wonderful case study from Kerry Laird, Vice President of Northern District Softball Association, about the successful implementation of their Junior Participation Pathway. President of Hawks Fastpitch Softball Club Jason Kriehn also spoke about their successful Softball Batter Up program, and the marketing strategies and social media promotion that led to its success.
A copy of the Participation and Club Development Workshop PowerPoint Presentation is available to download and circulate to your committee.
For those interested in Face-to-Face training for how to deliver a Home Run Heroes program, please complete the Home Run Heroes Face to Face Training Expression of Interest form, by Friday 27 May. Please also feel free to circulate to other members that may be interested in attending the training.
Softball Victoria thanks all the presenters for their fantastic contributions on the night and everyone for their attendance.
Softball Victoria’s Participation Coordinators are looking forward to working with each club and association in the future to provide support in the development and implementation of Home Run Heroes and other initiatives to boost participation and membership.
