Elaine Duyvestyn Awarded Medal of the Order of Australia

Published Mon 13 Jun 2022

Softball Victoria congratulates Elaine Duyvestyn on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the general division of the Queen’s Birthday honours list.

Elaine Duyvestyn is one of the longest serving administrators in Victorian softball.

She began her softball career as a player at Fawkner Park in 1968, before moving into coaching and various club committee roles for her beloved Wingers Softball Club.

She has been a regular fixture on the Melbourne Softball Association committee since its inception in 1982, and held multiple positions at the Victorian Softball Association/Women's Amateur Softball Council of Victoria, the predecessors to the current day Softball Victoria.

Elaine is very well known among the wider softball community, and it is only fitting that she has been recognised for her service with the Medal of the Order of Australia.

Congratulations again from Softball Victoria.
