Following her achievement as ‘Best Batter,’ the Black Storm’s Amanda Torrington said she enjoyed playing with and against the state’s best this season and hopes the league can continue to grow from strength-to-strength.
“It’s exciting for me personally, a big goal of mine this year was to come in and hit well and keep our team on top. But to come away with a personal award as well is really cool,” she said.
“I love it, I really enjoy it, I think we tend to get stuck in our ways playing in our club teams, so I really enjoy mixing in with all the other girls.”
“That’s what the sport is about – getting in, having fun, mixing in with each other and mixing it with the best.”
Torrington amazingly played through the season pregnant, and despite her fantastic form, has not made herself available for January’s National Championships.
“I have played this tournament from 19 through to 26 weeks pregnant, so I won’t be available for nationals this year, but hope to be back next year.”
