In exciting news for the Victoria Titans, Softball Victoria is thrilled to announce the reappointment of Mark Rigg as Head Coach for the 2021 and 2022 Gilleys Shield campaigns.

Heading into his fifth year in charge, Rigg will lead Victoria’s Open Women’s side towards the up-coming 2021 National Championships – to be held in Hawker, ACT – from 3-9 January.

The Titans’ also welcome back Assistant Coach Corey Dimitrijevic, who will be joined alongside newly appointed Assistant Coach – Alisha Bell.

Rigg – who brings a wealth of coaching knowledge to this position – told SV Media he’s excited at the prospect of taking the group through another campaign.

“I’m rapt to be reappointed, it’s a fantastic opportunity to continue what we started and be part of the Softball Victoria landscape going forward and keep that momentum rolling,” he said.

“I’m really excited to get more out of our players, they’re experienced now, they no what to expect at that elite level, I’m really excited to see what we can build.”

Having built her coaching experience most recently as U18 Women’s Head Coach, Rigg said that Bell’s expertise is an added bonus to the Titans’ coaching staff.

“Having Corey around again is pivotal in that continued improvement and Alisha will only add to that. We’re all similar age, with similar ideas and all believe we’re on the right track.” Rigg said.

“To have fresh input from Alisha is fantastic and she’ll be a valuable contributor to the program,” he added.

“Our side is extremely young in comparison with some other states, we’re hoping to welcome back some experienced players and I think we’ll have a really good mix of depth.”

“I’m eager to see how we compete against other teams, and I hope we can reap the rewards from our hard work over the past few years.”

More information regarding the Titans’ 2021 Nationals campaign will be made available in the coming months.
