Softball Batter Up Primary School Roadshows
Published Tue 13 Jul 2021
As we begin to look forward to another fun softball summer season, Softball Australia and Softball Victoria are busy in planning mode to increase the number of participation programs across the State.
In August, the Participation Team will be delivering Softball Batter Up sessions in primary schools with the purpose of transitioning participants to programs in our clubs and associations.
An email (refer attached) has been sent to all identified schools on Monday 12 July offering this opportunity to have a Softball Australia Participation Coordinator come and deliver sessions to their students.
What does this mean for your Club/Association?
Put simply, we need your help and support.
We are encouraging every association and club to provide a representative to attend the relevant sessions, assist with delivery and provide support to our Participation Coordinators. Having an Association/Club volunteer present will begin to build the relationship between Association/Club and school and allow for potential future sessions to be delivered.
To give your club/association the best chance of success, by no later than Friday 30 July can you please:
- Ensure your new revolutioniseSPORT website has basic Association/Club contact information updated. An example of this can be found here: Home - Keilor Park & Districts Softball Association Inc - revolutioniseSPORT
- Ensure your Association/Club address in the revolutioniseSPORT portal matches the area your players would come from. This must be the most relevant venue associated with your organsiation; either your training ground or game day ground. The home address of your administrator is probably not ideal. Having this address correct will help new members find your easily via club finder Find a club - Softball Australia
- Identify dates you will be running an SBU program at your Association/Club then talk to your Participation Coordinator about social media promotion and registration.
- Confirm your members who are interested in attending SBU school sessions to your participation coordinator by 30/7/21. Your member will need to possess a current Volunteer Working With Children Check. This can be completed at How to apply | Working with Children
If you need assistance with any of the above or require further information, please contact your Participation Coordinator.
