Sue Rigg and Sharon Harrison Finalists for Knox Women in Leadership Award
Published Mon 04 Apr 2022
Softball Victoria would like to acknowledge the efforts of Sue Rigg and Sharron Harrison, who were both nominated for the Women in Leadership award at the 200/21 Knox Sport and Leisure Awards.
Sue Rigg has been Treasurer of Knox and District Softball Association (KDSA) for approximately a decade, and during this time has been heavily involved in improving all aspects of softball in Victoria.
She has positively influenced many parts of the local softball community, helping countless people to become more involved in softball.
Sue is also an experienced and highly qualified scorer, often participating at National level in that capacity.
Sharron Harrison is currently Secretary of the KDSA and President of the Hard Knox Panthers Softball Club, and actively involved in increasing the membership of one of the younger KDSA clubs.
The Hard Knox Panthers cater primarily to players in the Over 35 and Over 45 age bracket, with their teams often competing at Masters games in both men’s and women’s competitions.
As Secretary of KDSA, Sharron maintains and circulates Minutes and Agendas to the administrators of every club at KDSA before monthly committee meetings, and she administers the various grades at KDSA, which has more than 600 players participating across a range of venues.
Being recognised as a finalist is a huge effort, and reflects the quality of work they do at grassroots level. Softball Victoria is indebted to their efforts.
