Softball Victoria has launched a new Sub Junior Participation Pathway developed by Tim Hatzi and Danielle Rigg in their new roles as Development Coordinators.
The new pathway aims to make it easier for new junior participants to enter the sport and develop the skills and fundamentals of the game required until they are ready to transition into junior competition.
The above graphic represents the progression for junior recruitment within the mainstream pathway for softball in Victoria. It clearly details the recommended pathway for juniors aged 4-12 years of age from entry level to sub junior competition softball.
Tim and Danielle’s roles are to develop programs to increase participation across their seven associations. They will be working with each association and club to implement Softball Batter Up and Fully Loaded T-ball programs as well as developing annual Recruiting and Retention plans.

Softball Victoria understands that our members are in much different circumstances than usual for this time of year. We hope that our members remain physically active and look after their mental well-being at this testing time.
Where possible SV encourages partaking in isolated softball activities while adhering to the government’s social distancing restrictions and guidelines. We hope that you use the time to reflect on what has worked for your club and plan for a future return to the diamond.
