ONLINE PDs FOR TEACHERS & SUPPORT STAFF
To ensure we cater for schools running the two sports at different times across the state, we have locked in online PDs for both T-Ball and Softball at the beginning of every term for 2024. These sessions are specific to the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Primary competitions at District, Division, Region and State levels.
As we know, school teams work towards achieving success at the State level, but providing a great experience at each competition prior to this is just as important to us. In fact, it really all starts in the school yard, so our PDs covers games and drills you can use to get your team ready, and information to help teachers and convenors ensure you have everything required to support your team on game day and/or run the competition.
The PDs will take you through:
- The differences between Fully Loaded Softbal and traditional Softball and why the changes were made
- Equipment and field set up requirements
- How to facilitate the game
- Fielding positions including details about pitching and catching
- Making 'outs' in the field
- Batting / Hitting
- Loaded bases and base running
- Scoring the game
- Coaching tips for strategy, game play and skill development
- Resources available
